The grant from the insurer’s Fireman’s Fund Heritage program will be used to purchase new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for the fire company’s new truck, Squad 6. Since 2004 FFIC has awarded millions of dollars in grants and donations to fire departments and burn prevention programs across the country. This year Flourtown was one of 17 employee-nominated fire departments to receive grants totaling $300,000.
