Ambler Laundromat Fire, R.I.T Response

Squad 6 and its Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) responded to a confirmed dryer fire at the Ambler Fabric Care Center Coin Laundry. The fire was rapidly knocked down by crews from Wissahickon Fire Company (Station 7), Fort Washington Fire Company (Station 88), and Centre Square Fire Company (Station 33), and traffic and crowd control was handled by fire police from Station 7 and Station 33. RIT Team Responses to Upper Dublin

On January 16, 2011, Flourtown responded as a RIT team to assist Ft. Washington Fire Co. (Sta. 88) at the scene of a non-commercial building fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the property was saved.

Whitemarsh Basement Fire – 02/05/10

Friday, January 5, 2010 at 17:00hrs, Stations 29 (Barren Hill) and 6 (Flourtown) were dispatched to the 6300 block of Fairfield Drive for the Dwelling fire. Deputy 6 on scene with heavy smoke showing, confirming all occupants out of the building and establishing 29 command. Engine 6′s crew led off with an 1-3/4″ line and found moderate fire in the basement. A quick knock was put on the fire, as Ladder 6 and 29′s crew laddered the building and checked for extension. Squad 6 established a water supply. Rescue 82 (Wyndmoor) handled the RIT assignment. Stations 45(Spring Mill) and 56(Lincoln) were also dispatched on the Whitemarsh working fire procedure.
